Dance Classes in Schools

With over 30 years of dance training and experience, and over 15 years of primary school teaching experience, KINESISdance brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity and passion to deliver high quality dance provision to Primary and Secondary schools around York & North Yorkshire.

Dance is proven to develop and nurture a wide variety of physical and emotional skills in children and young people, including balance, coordination, flexibility, confidence, teamwork and creativity. It can offer them the opportunity to shine, express themselves, stay active, and learn creatively in their school setting.

KINESISdance offers a variety of packages to Primary, Secondary and Specialist Schools in York & North Yorkshire. These include:

• - Dance Units linked to the Curriculum   Taught over a term or half term, units can cover any theme or topic being taught in class including Vikings, Egyptians, Volcanoes, Dance Around The World, Rivers, Seasons, The Great Fire of London, and many, many more!
• - Extra-Curricular Dance Clubs   These can be run before or after school, or at lunchtimes in some settings.
• - Dance Festivals   These are always very popular, exciting events which schools love to be take part in! Events we have been involved in over the years include the Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival, Everybody Dance Festival, Dance It Up North, Excel Learning Trust Arts Fest (previously Southbank MAT)
• - Year 6 End of Year Production Choreography   Whether your school is holding a full musical extravaganza, or a small celebration of the children's time at Primary School, KINESISdance can provide choreography, dance teaching & music editing in rehearsals leading up to the final performance.
• - Special Workshops   Whether you are holding a themed day in your school, want to kick-start a new topic in a fresh and exciting way, or include dance sessions in your Healthy Schools timetable, KINESISdance can provide workshops, one-off sessions, and whole school dance performances in both mainstream and specialist Primary & Secondary settings.
