For several years, we have run Summer Holiday Dance Workshops which always prove to be very popular and lots of fun!
Each year we pick a theme for the workshops and also use time during the sessions to created basic set designs and props to add to the final performance. The workshops have grown and grown over the years and we look forward to seeing what future Summer Workshops have in store!
A few years ago we ran the wonderful 'Dance In The Woods' project where young people worked together to creatively use the beautiful surroundings to set and inspire their choreography. The final piece was filmed and edited and turned out to be a fantastic end result which we were all very proud of!
When the Queen's Baton travelled to York on its journey to Birmingham to mark the opening of the Commonwealth Games in 2022, I was asked to choreography a dance for all 600 pupils from 20 schools in York to perform at the end of their Sports activity event. It was an amazing event to be part of, and there was a fantastic atmosphere as all the pupils came together to welcome GB Long jumper, Lucy Hadaway, as she arrived with the Baton. A truly memorable day!

As part of my work with the Rural Steps Project, funded by ACE (Arts Council England) I had the opportunity to take part in some CPD workshops run by the wonderful Gecko Theatre. We told stories, created movement phrases, shared ideas with other dance teachers, and I came away with lots of fresh ideas to implement in my teaching!
